The SPOT Connect App effectively integrates with Apple's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, facilitating communication via the innovative SPOT Connect satellite messenger. This device is specifically designed to transmit messages globally, overcoming the limitations of cellular networks and enabling users to stay connected even in remote locations.

Leveraging the award-winning SPOT Connect device, users can connect to the Globalstar satellite network, allowing for location-based messaging from areas lacking cellular coverage. Installation of the SPOT Connect App provides seamless wireless synchronization via Bluetooth with compatible iOS devices. The app features an intuitive user interface, making it easy to initiate satellite messaging directly.

SPOT Connect employs reliable technology to relay GPS location coordinates and real-time status updates to selected contacts. When sending a message through the Globalstar network, recipients receive either a custom Type and Send or Predefined message delivered as SMS text or email. These messages include vital information such as latitude, longitude, date, and time, along with a link to an online map for better context. Users can access several established messaging features, including Check-in/OK, Help, SPOT Assist, SOS, and Track Progress.

Overview of Messaging Features:

• SOS: Sends an emergency assistance request every 5 minutes along with GPS coordinates until canceled or batteries are depleted. The GEOS International Emergency Response Center notifies appropriate local authorities globally. Custom messages can accompany the SOS for detailed emergency information.
• Help/SPOT Assist: Requests aid from friends, family, or professional services for up to one hour at five-minute intervals. Custom messages can be added to provide specific information.* SPOT Assist is subject to availability.
• Check-in/OK: Sends a predefined or custom message with GPS location to contacts. Users can also share their status on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter with a single button press.
• Track Progress: Allows users to share their location in near real-time so contacts can monitor progress on a map. A SPOT Shared Page feature enables users to display their GPS locations online (additional service required).

The SPOT Connect App enhances the functionality of Apple devices by introducing new messaging capabilities. Users can craft custom messages while on the move and store up to 14 predefined messages and 10 contact groups of 50 contacts each. The app also transforms devices such as iPod touch or iPad Wi-Fi into satellite messengers by harnessing the onboard GPS and satellite transmitter capabilities of the SPOT Connect device. This allows users to send location updates to social networks from isolated areas.
